What is Microblading?

Microblading is a process of implanting pigment under the skin with tiny, sterile, disposable needles to give the effect of real eyebrow hair and enhance the shape of your eyebrow.

How long does microblading last?

Microblading is a permanent makeup service. Everyone’s skin is different so, for some, the pigment can fade out faster than for others. A touch-up is recommended between 8-24 months to keep your eyebrows looking fresh. On some skin types, microblading can take many years to completely fade away, if it ever fades away at all. There are also options for removal if you decide microblading is not for you!

How can I make my microblading last as long as possible?

We want you to get your money's worth out of your cosmetic enhancement so following the after care instructions that we provide to you after your service is essential for pigment retention. Staying out of the sun or at least using sunscreen on the eyebrow area, not using chemicals or exfoliants, paying close attention to all of these instructions, especially within the first month of the healing process, will help keep your new brows looking amazing! Keep in mind that different people will have different pigment retention. If your brows start to fade out sooner than you would have liked, do not fret! We have lower prices for people that need to come in for their touch ups sooner than expected.

Is it possible that my skin just will not hold pigment?

This is a possibility. Some people have very oily skin or have iron deficiencies and the ink just does not want to hold as well. Your results will also not be ideal if you bleed excessively. You can try to prevent excessive bleeding by abstaining from alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, fish oil, allergy medication and any other blood thinning substances for 48 hours before your appointment. Unfortunately, your artist cannot predict how much you will bleed, so it is up to the client to do everything in their power to prevent excess bleeding. If you do have excess bleeding, we can discuss other possible options at the end of your first appointment.

Can I get microblading done if I am on thyroid medication?

You can get microblading done if you are on thyroid medication, but please be aware that the medication can sometimes cause the pigment to look very cool in tone. It is possible to try to warm up the tone of the pigment, but there is always a small chance that the pigment could still look more cool in tone than is desirable. With that being said, many people still love their brows even if they are on the cooler side!

Can I drink coffee or alcohol before my appointment?

It is not advised to drink coffee or alcohol for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Both of these cause your blood to thin and may cause excess bleeding, which can lead to pigment loss and changes in pigment tone that are very difficult to correct without having to remove the pigment altogether. Please also refrain from taking allergy medication, any other forms of caffeine, fish oil, turmeric and any other substances that could thin your blood.

Does it hurt?

The pain level of microblading has been compared to that of eyebrow threading, but everyone has a different pain tolerance. We use a numbing agent throughout the process to make sure that you are comfortable.

Can I get microblading done if I am pregnant or nursing?

Unfortunately, we cannot perform the microblading service on individuals that are pregnant or nursing.
